Autumn Leaf

This species is called ‘autumn leaf’ due to the shape and colouration of its closed
wings, which resamble a dry leaf. With open wings, it shows a more conspicuous colouration which it uses to communicate with individuals of the same species. Males have a brighter display than females, something we often observe in butterflies.
