Blue-Banded Morpho

For several years now, different coloured Morpho helenor belonging to various geographical races (subspecies), can be observed in butterfly houses. One of the most distinct subspecies comes from Suriname and is erroneously considered to belong to the species Morpho achilles, which it resembles a lot. In fact, the real Morpho achilles has never been bred for butterfly houses.
