Common green iguana

Large arboreal reptile that is bred for food in some countries such as Nicaragua. Iguanas have a ‘third eye’, a rudimentary organ located in the middle of the skull in a dorsal position that its ancestors used to look upwards without having to raise their heads. However, its function in iguanas is still unclear. It has a vegetarian diet.
