Common Olivewing

Common olivewings are unusual butterflies because of their colouration. With closed wings they show a cryptic green colouration which hides them amongst green plants, something which is rare in butterflies. In most species, the cryptic colouration visible with closed wings is usually brown, to mimic dry barks or leaves.
