Mantises are predatory insects that camouflage themselves by blending in with the surrounding environment (cryptic mimicry). The species belonging to this genus imitate dry leaves in order not to be recognized by the prey, mostly other insects that they capture. Like all mantises, it is common for females to devour the male during mating. This provides them with the nourishment necessary for the development of the eggs.
