Forest Mother-of-Pearl

The common name of this species refers to the colouration of males, which have white wings with iridescent reflections that change colour depending on your point of view. Males claim their territory by displaying and flashing their wings when in the presence of other males. The larger females are white or yellow, without iridescence. With closed wings both sexes blend in with the vegetation.
