Forest Queen

This African species is very fast, as its large thorax suggests. The territorial males hang upside down from the leaves at a certain height, to control the other butterflies passing by (perching). They chase females of the same species, confront (sometimes even fight) other males, and ignore other species. Some scientist suggest that the colours of this species mimic those of a poisonous species.
