Tailed Jay

This species is easily recognisable by its green colour, which is not a common feature in butterflies. A peculiarity of this and other species of the genus Graphium is that the pigments are found inside the wing membranes instead of in the scales, as is usually the case. This is advantageous as the colours of the Graphiums are easily visible even against the light.
