It is a predator specialized in capturing insects while they are flying. Its shape and coloration make it similar to a leaf and, for this reason, difficult to locate. It is one of the few species of mantis who does not practice cannibalism and can be bred in groups. If threatened, they produce an intimidating sound by rubbing their legs with wings. Contrary to males, females are unable to fly.
